On average, house prices rose in Catalonia by 7.5% compared to the first quarter of 2016, in Madrid by 6.6% and in the Canary Islands by 5.3%. As for the provincial cities, in Barcelona prices rose by 12.1% and in Alicante by 11.7%. However, there are various parts of Spain where prices are still falling. Namely, in Murcia and Navarre house prices fell by 5%.
