The best beaches in the world!
Spain has been declared a national hero again the country with the most blue flags in the world. Spain has blue flags on a total of 579 of its beaches, and the Valencia region, including the Costa Blanca, boasts the highest total, with 129 high-quality beaches.
Blue Flags are awarded to beaches that meet requirements on issues such as hygiene, safety, accessibility and provision of lifeguards. Blue Flags are awarded by the Association for Environmental Education and Consumers (ADEAC), with Spain holding the top spot for three decades since the awards began in 1987.
We have selected the hot spots on the beach:
Costa Blanca South
One of the best parts about living on the southern Costa Blanca is that you're never far from a pristine sandy beach! Even if you don't step straight from your front porch onto the sand, popular areas like Villamartin or Los Dolses on the Orihuela Costa are still well-maintained, a five-minute drive from the beaches at La Zenia, Playa Flamenca, and Cabo Roig , where you can expect a fun atmosphere in the summer, including beach bars and water sports!
La Zenia is a small but busy resort that is probably best known for its two stunning beaches: Cala Bosque and Cala Serrada . Both beaches have fine white sand and shallow waters, making them ideal for families. For example, a wonderful residential complex is located in the town of La Zenia.
Cabo Roig also boasts two beautiful beaches, La Caleta and Cala Capitan, as well as a busy marina.
A little further up the coast, Torrevieja has over 20km of stunning coastline with an abundance of beaches and coves. From beautiful white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters to more adventurous rocky beaches perfect for exploring rock pools.
The warm Mediterranean Sea is an extremely attractive and wonderful place for swimming. All waters and sand are checked throughout the year.
Costa Blanca North
The biggest draw to owning a property in Denia is its proximity to the coast and its 20km of stunning Blue Flag beaches. Head north to Playa de las Marinas for lovely, tranquil sandy beaches backed by plenty of bars and restaurants. Head south to Les Rotes for rocky coves and clear waters – great for exploring. There are also excellent water sports facilities.
Les Deves beach marks the beginning of the Costa Blanca, and to the north it borders the beaches of the Valencian city of Oliva. On the Denia coast we have so much to offer you.
Further south is popular Javea and Arenal Beach. This sandy beach is a favourite with tourists and also has a promenade offering plenty of bars and restaurants.
In the south you will find La Barraca Cove, a pebble beach with beautiful crystal clear waters, Granadilla Beach and many other beautiful hidden bays and beaches . Javea , like many other coastal towns on the northern Costa Blanca, has a low density of development along its 25 kilometres of beautiful coastline.
