Focus on Algorfa, a stunning village on the Costa Blanca
Today we'll focus on the small but stunning town of Algorfa on the Costa Blanca.
The town is just 30 minutes from Alicante airport on the southern Costa Blanca. The famous beaches of Guardamar del Segura are 15 minutes in one direction, and the historic town of Orihuela is 15 minutes away.
This Spanish village has a wonderful village square that buzzes in the evening. Wandering around the town on foot you will find bustling Spanish bars, European restaurants, traditional Spanish shops and a municipal sports facility that many towns 10 times the size of the UK are proud of.
A short drive from the village, you’ll hear the grumblings of a legion of Rafa Nadal wannabes at the local tennis club, where you can hone your skills in both traditional tennis and the ever-growing sport of padel. For something completely different, the La Pedrera reservoir is a 10-minute drive away, offering a variety of water sports, fishing, quad biking, horse riding and more.
The village of Algorfa is spread over a large area with different urbanizations, so there is a corresponding variety of property types and prices.
For those on a budget, there are options from €65,000 for a south-facing ground floor two-bedroom apartment, or three-bedroom detached villas on a 150m2 plot from €120,000.
Moving up the price range, there are some fantastic resales and new build villas, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms starting from €400,000.
