A beautiful town on the Costa Blanca – Calpe

Date: 16.04.2019

The famous Costa Blanca rock Peñón de Ifach, two lively beach areas of Calpe, a large selection of quality restaurants, inexpensive houses, a beautiful port and an old town make it an ideal place for tourists and those who have decided to move here.

Calpe has a mild climate and green mountain landscape, making it an attractive and healthy destination at any time of year. Alicante Airport is less than 30 minutes north of Benidorm and south of Moraira. Valencia Airport is less than 90 minutes away and is accessible via the AP-7 motorway.

Calpe used to be a very British resort, but these days it is the French, Belgians, Germans and Dutch, Russians and Ukrainians who buy here. And it has always been a popular resort with Spaniards from Madrid and other parts of the country, so it retains its "Spanish feel".

Apart from the towering rock that is visible from all sides, another notable natural feature of Calpe is its salt lagoon, called Las Salinas, located in the centre of the resort. It is very popular with visitors.

Water sports and sailing enthusiasts won't be disappointed either – in addition to its main marina and fishing port, Calpe also has a second marina in Puerto Blanco.

Calpe is unique in that it has two beaches, one on each side of the cliff. And another feature is that the beaches are narrow, so when you are in a bar or restaurant on the promenade, the sea is close by. This does not apply to other resorts with wider beaches. A notable attraction here are the many restaurants serving fresh fish from the port.

To the north of the Rock is Fossa Levante Beach, which ends in the urbanizations of La Calalga and Basetes. On the southern side of the Rock, next to the city center and the port, is the main beach of Arenal Bol. Popular urbanizations near the sea are Tosal, Borumbot and La Canuta. Further from the center, but with particularly good views of the sea are Maryvilla and Cucarres. Wherever you are in Calpe, in just 5-10 minutes you can reach the city center and the beach.

Property in Calpe. Three-bedroom, two-bathroom villas here cost between €300,000 and €350,000. This is cheaper than in Javea and Denia, where you will need to pay between €350,000 and €400,000. Prices for a good holiday apartment near the beach start at around €150,000, but in the city centre or further out there are more apartments from €100,000, which may not have a pool.

The rental market in Calpe has also grown over the last year. This is good news for buyers who want to earn income from their property in Calpe. You can choose the right property in Calpe for yourself in our real estate catalog .
