Rent prices for apartments in Spain have risen by 50% since the last quarter of 2013, according to a Bank of Spain study published on August 1.

The report says this growth has been uneven across Spain, with provincial capitals seeing an average growth of 40 percent between 2013 and 2019, while other cities saw growth of just 10 percent over the same time period.

The biggest increases in rental prices were seen in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia, as well as in cities with high tourist traffic such as Palma de Mallorca, Malaga, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
