G20 to be held in Belek
The famous Turkish resort town of Belek is preparing to host the G20 summit, which will be held under the Turkish presidency on October 15 and 16.
Careful preparations for the safety of the participants are already underway. Among the measures that the country's government will take are restrictions on entry into the city, as well as closed airspace. In addition, work is being carried out to prevent any disruptions to power lines, the Internet, and so on.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry is directly involved in all matters of organization. Hundreds of surveillance cameras capable of recognizing faces and license plates will be installed along the 40-kilometer road between Antalya Airport and Belek. Thousands of police officers will monitor compliance with the law in the area.
At the moment, 30 of the 46 five-star hotels in Belek have already been reserved. Not only the leaders of the states will stay there, but also the staff, assistants and businessmen who are involved in resolving the issues outlined in the summit program.
The delegations will vary in size, with the American delegation comprising approximately 1,000 people. Each delegation will cover its own accommodation costs. Turkey has already announced the list of participants, including the presidents of the European Commission and the European Union, as well as the king of Saudi Arabia.
