Spain is the number one best place to buy in 2018, and its dominance has only grown stronger since last year. Tourism is booming, flights are on the rise and the property market continues to improve, although prices remain well below market peaks in many areas, with the notable exceptions of the Balearic Islands , Madrid and Barcelona . Investors and buyers have certainly set their sights on Barcelona, one of Europe’s most exciting cities, but the Costa Blanca is a perennial favourite year on year, with prices still very affordable and plenty of exciting new developments under construction. Our three biggest Spanish hotspots for enquiries this year are Torrevieja, Villamartin and Ciudad Quesada – these destinations are by far the most sought after. It’s also interesting that the Canary Islands are also popular, particularly in the winter months.
