All you need to know about Javea
Javea is one of the most picturesque places on the Costa Blanca. It is located on a stunning coastline, near the Montgo mountain. The city is divided into three parts: a beautiful beach, the old town and the port. The surrounding area of Javea is filled with pine trees and other trees.
Beaches. The beaches in Javea range from small coves to wide stretches of golden sand. Arenal Beach is very popular with tourists. It has golden sand, crystal clear waters and a lively promenade full of bars and restaurants.
The rocky beach of Cabo de la Nao has stunning views of Ibiza. La Granadella is one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain. It is a horseshoe-shaped bay with sapphire blue waters and seaweed.
Port. Down the port you will find old fishermen's houses and a church. Javea is one of the few that has managed to preserve a traditional port area. Fishermen come to the port daily and hold a fish sale.
Old Town. A stroll through the old town reveals narrow medieval streets, whitewashed facades, Gothic windows and arched doorways. The Church of St. Bartholomew is a fine example of Gothic architecture.
Be sure to visit the food market, which sells fresh fruits and vegetables. A great place to enjoy sangria, tapas and the views.
Food. Javea is a food lover's paradise! Being by the sea, restaurants there specialise in seafood and fish dishes – especially paella. The fertile St Bartholomew Valley features fresh produce including raisins and figs. Xábia al Plat is a food festival that runs for 10 days.
Nightlife. Javea has a great nightlife. There are plenty of cocktail bars, beach bars and sidewalk cafe terraces. Most of the places are located on the promenade around Arenal Beach, overlooking the sea.
La Bambula is a great restaurant with live music. It has a beautiful interior with a large patio overlooking the sea. It is a very popular place to enjoy the sunset in Javea.
Water sports. Javea is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. Scuba divers can dive into the sea to see unique flora and fauna. Javea is a great place to rent kayaks, boats and jet skis.
